Bram Montgomery - Head Coach and Lead Coach for NDS

After graduating from Brown University with a BA in Child Development and Education and as a varsity team captain and school record holder, Bram has since been coaching full time for over 20 years, including spending 10 years as founder and Head Coach of Chelsea and Westminster SC. While at CWSC he developed numerous County, Regional and National medallists while also placing two swimmers on the GB team at Junior and Senior Level including Bella Hindley who celebrated a double Silver Medal performance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. After being named London Region Junior Coach of the year in 2014 and Senior Coach of the Year 2015, Bram Joined Brompton SC in 2018 and has helped drive the club forward by raising the level of expectations for all squads. The club has made great strides including gaining promotion to the London Premier Division of the National Arena League, 3 consecutive top 6 finishes in the National Jr Arena League, and the club's highest ever finishes in both the County and Regional Championships.

Ramtin Shahbazi - Associate Head Coach, Head of Development 

Ramtin has been a club swimmer since a young age at BANL, carrying on to progress and swim at National and European meets representing ULU, Otters and Barnet Masters. He pursued his passion of swimming after graduating by working with a number of Learn to Swim programmes. He used this experience to begin coaching, at CWSC, before joining Brompton in January 2018 where he quickly helped the club develop into a regional force at all levels.

Joanna Basista - Lead Coach for JD2 Squad, Assistant for all squads

Joanna Basista graduated from Physical Education University in Warsaw Poland with Master's degree in Sports Science. After representing her country at international level competitions, Joanna has been coaching and teaching swimming for 13 years, including the last 6 as one of the lead coaches for Brompton SC.

Ozan Mert Kurtcu - Lead Coach for CD1 squad

Ozan has been passionate about swimming since he began competing at the age of 8. Through his hard work and focus Ozan was able to represent Turkey at a number of international competitions including the European Youth Open Water Championships as well as the European Senior Open Water Championships. Ozan graduated from Marmara University with a degree in Sport Science in 2019 and also recently completed his certificate in Physical Education Teaching. Ozan has been coaching and teaching swimmers of all ages within some of the top age group clubs in Turkey.

Claudia Costa - Assistant Coach for all squads

Claudia, who has been coaching with Brompton since 2018, is originally from Brazil where she was a finalist at the Brazilian Senior National Championship in the 200m Back Backstroke and won medals at Junior National level as well. Claudia started swimming competitively at the age of 12 with the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, one of the biggest swimming teams in Brazil, where she trained 3 hours a day, 5 days a week for over 10 years. As an experienced coach and teacher, Claudia provides a comprehensive teaching programme for all ages and abilities. Claudia strives to develop and advance her teaching techniques to deliver the best coaching possible to all swimmers. 

Jahrel Murphy - Lead Coach for JD1, Assistant for all squads 

Jahrel began competitive swimming at the age of 8 and qualified for his first British National Championships at 13.  He went on to represent Great Britain in the European Junior Championships and the Commonwealth Youth Games and was a double medalist in both competitions. He broke the English Jr Record for the 50m Backstroke and is still one of the fastest Backstrokers ever from London. Jahrel has over 9 years of teaching and coaching experience and is passionate about helping young swimmers reach their full potential and develop a love for the sport. 

Marina Pollara - Assistant Coach for NDS and JD1 squads

Marina has been involved in swimming from a very early age,  competing at the Italian National Championships, International Meets and Pre-Olympic trials and, as a master swimmer, at the National and European Championships. She began her coaching career in Rome before taking a long break to raise her three children. After a brief coaching spell in Japan, on her return to the UK, she joined Wandsworth Swimming Club, first as Assistant Head Coach and then Head Coach. In that role she achieved consistently high results at County and Regional Level, and taking scores of swimmers to the Nationals, with multiple medalists and finalists.  In 2009 she was selected to join the British National Team as Assistant Team Manager and Interpreter for the Wolrd Championships in Rome. In the same year, she joined the ASA Beacon Programme at Crystal Palace as Assistant Head Coach until June 2012, becoming Head Coach until the end of the Programme in 2013. In September 2013 she joined CWSC where she worked as Assistant Performance coach for 12 years. She holds the ASA Club Coach Level 3 and UKCC Level 3 Certificates.
